COMMUNITY

MORE THAN A CREW. A SUPPORT SYSTEM.

Paranormal Action Sports is built around more than riding together.

Our goal is to help riders grow as athletes, students, creators, mentors and people. Through the Paranormal Crew and the Calyx Pedal Project, we work to create opportunities that support progression both on and off the bike.

Every rider’s situation and goals are different. Support may take different forms, but the purpose remains the same:

Help riders keep moving forward.

HOW WE SUPPORT RIDERS

PARTS, EQUIPMENT AND BIKE SUPPORT

When resources are available, PAS/CPP may help riders locate necessary parts, connect with bike shops and community resources, maintain their bikes or gain access to donated equipment.

The goal is to reduce the barriers that can prevent someone from riding, progressing or participating in an opportunity.

MEDIA AND PROMOTION

Talent needs an opportunity to be seen.

PAS may support riders through photography, video, social-media promotion, rider spotlights, edited riding clips and help developing a positive public identity.

Media support is not only about gaining attention. It teaches riders how to communicate, represent themselves professionally, recognize sponsors and collaborators, and build a record of their progression.

MENTORSHIP ON THE BIKE

On-bike mentorship can include:

  • Skill progression and goal setting

  • Safety and park awareness

  • Sportsmanship and riding etiquette

  • Learning how to work through fear and failure

  • Encouraging consistency without rushing progression

  • Helping riders become positive examples for others

We believe failed attempts are part of progression. What matters is learning, adjusting and continuing to show up.

MENTORSHIP OFF THE BIKE

The lessons learned through BMX should continue after the bike is put away.

PAS/CPP encourages accountability, respectful communication, responsible decision-making, consistency and pride in the community.

Mentorship may also include conversations about education, employment, personal goals and the responsibilities that come with representing a crew or organization.

GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY

Support is not only about what a rider receives.

Crew members are encouraged to welcome younger riders, help at events, share what they have learned, respect public riding spaces and contribute positively to the community.

Whether that means helping someone understand the skatepark, encouraging a rider after a fall, assisting with an event or protecting the places where we ride, every crew member has something valuable to contribute.

WHAT WE ASK OF OUR CREW

We ask riders to:

  • Show effort and remain willing to learn

  • Communicate honestly and respectfully

  • Follow safety expectations

  • Encourage other riders

  • Take care of shared spaces and equipment

  • Represent PAS/CPP and the riding community positively

  • Remain accountable on and off the bike

  • Be Excellent Every Day

Support and opportunities vary based on individual needs, readiness, participation, conduct, available resources, transportation, funding and parent or guardian approval when applicable. Being associated with PAS/CPP does not guarantee parts, travel, financial assistance, media coverage or educational sponsorship.

THE PARANORMAL CREW

Being part of the Paranormal Crew is not determined by who can perform the biggest trick or who has the most followers.

It is about effort, attitude, accountability and how someone contributes to the people around them.

We look for riders who are willing to challenge themselves, encourage others, represent the riding community positively and continue working toward their goals—even when progress does not come easily.

TRIPS AND NEW EXPERIENCES

Progress often comes from experiencing new places, people and styles of riding.

PAS works to create opportunities for crew members to visit skateparks, attend events, meet other riders, connect with bike shops and participate in filming trips and community ride days.

These experiences help riders expand their skills, build confidence and learn how to represent themselves outside their home park.

EDUCATION AND FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

Through our collaboration with Bradford Learning Associates, PAS/CPP can incorporate educational guidance alongside the mentorship provided through action sports.

This may include access to GED-focused resources, accountability and help identifying a different educational path when a traditional path has not worked.

Educational support through PAS/CPP is currently provided through existing mentorship and sponsorship relationships and is not an open-enrollment program.

COMMUNITY IN ACTION

Our work has included:

  • Free youth bike-skills programming

  • Community ride days and BMX jams

  • Friendly competitions and rider prizes

  • Bike donations, raffles and giveaways

  • Crew sessions and progression opportunities

  • Rider photography, filming and promotion

  • Regional riding and filming experiences

  • Educational mentorship and GED-focused support

  • Encouraging responsibility and pride at the Roseburg Skate Park

  • Continued development of the Paranormal Ranch

These efforts are made possible through riders, families, volunteers, community partners, donors and businesses who believe in creating better opportunities through action sports.

RIDE. GROW. GIVE BACK.

Paranormal Action Sports is building a community where riders can find encouragement, opportunity and people who want to see them succeed.

Not only as riders—but as people.

Be Excellent Every Day.
